Find RE_Kenshi settings and understand the main settings groups.

Configuration

RE_Kenshi exposes its settings inside Kenshi. Open Options → Mods → RE_Kenshi Settings from either the main menu or the in-game Esc menu.

Settings groups

General

Find update checks, startup behavior, and the bug-reporting entry point here.

Gameplay

Gameplay controls include the random-number-generator fix, camera distance, attack-slot and faction limits, and custom game-speed controls. Avoid setting capacity controls to unintended values when troubleshooting other mods.

Performance

Performance settings cover shader caching and heightmap behavior. Storage type and an existing mod setup can influence which option is most appropriate, so retain the recommended default unless you have a specific reason to change it.

Debug log

The debug view records initialization and plugin-loading activity. Preserve relevant RE_Kenshi log lines when reporting a problem; they help distinguish an installation issue from an individual plugin issue.

Safe configuration practice

  • Change one group of settings at a time.
  • Restart the game when a setting or plugin requires it.
  • Record your Kenshi and RE_Kenshi versions before reporting unexpected behavior.
  • Use the upstream wiki or mod page for current issue-specific guidance.
